broh broh baggins

i'm a gift card fan.
about 3 out of every 5 work days, i go to starbucks for coffee and a breakfast sandwich. the total is something near $5. so what i do is buy starbucks gift cards on ebay for a discount. the last gift card i purchased on ebay had a value for $100, and i bought it for $82. cool. so the seller emails me the the code, i enter it into my starbucks ipone app and boom, $100 credit. nice and easy. so here's my question. there are obviously millions of starbucks gift cards in the world that have some cash value on them. what is stopping me from just entering random numbers and see if i can get lucky? i know it wouldn't be easy to guess correctly, BUT if you do it enough times, you are bound to hit eventually right?

i think i've seen just about every MTV catfish episode. lame i know. my question is, re: the person on the other end who is the mysterious character. why do they agree to meet up facetoface? SPOILER ALERT; so almost all of the mysterious character do not turn out to be who they say they are. most have lied. what i don't understand is why they agree to meet up, especially if they are basically being "caught". aaaaand especially knowing that it will be recorded for a tv series. like what happens if the mysterious person declines to meet up? they stop filming, and that episode is over?
