pull-ups

The question i've been thinking a lot about recently is: how many girls can do a pull-up (hands facing out).

I was talking to Nicky about this. I originally said 1 in 10. She says 1 in 3. I would be extremely shocked if it was 1 in 3. That just seems crazy to me because some of my guy friends can not do one. I asked my Mom and Aunt last night. I asked my Mom, and she said 1 in 10. I wasn't very surprised because she is about as un-athletic as anyone. Last time I was home, I asked my mom if she played any sports when she was younger, she said no. My dad said she was good at hopscotch haha. But Aunty Frances said that 2 of her nieces can do pull-ups, so maybe it is less than 1 in 10. I could see it being pretty entertaining if I make a bet with someone. Maybe ask 100-200 random girls.

if anyone wants to make an interesting bet, i'll take 1 in 5 girls, and the over.

degens

On twoplustwo, there is a thread called "degen stories"
it's pretty entertaining, here is one i thought was funny:

"2yrs ago i had $650 on bodog and needed $1020 to pay rent in 4 days but didnt have the courage 2 keep grindin $20 SNGs because i had been on 5 week break even stretch. the $650 was all i had to my name at the time

i didnt kno wtf to do and i had to double my money asap so i loaded up roullette and put it all my money on black. i fired up winamp and put on some enya while i sat with my finger on the mouse button and the mouse cursor over the spin button. and stared at the screen for like a min or 2 before i could apply enough pressure to click it.

as soon as i clicked it powerd off my 20" lcd, spun around 180 degrees on my computer chair and threw myself facedown on the floor with my hands over my face yelling "please please please please please" while kicking my feet into the carpet. i laid there with a tear streaming down my face and enya in the background and felt more gay then degen

at the end of the enya song i lit up a camel light and powered my monitor back on to see $1300 in my account. i cashed it all out and 2 days later i called my parents n told them i was movin back in and gonna find a job."

btw, i love listening to 'enya-only time' while playing, it's the best.

i found this on youtube, ultimate degen

good2cu

Go to robustothemovie.com
This 40 minute documentary is about the online poker pro, Andrew “good2cu” Robl. He is a young successful poker player living in Las Vegas . A couple years ago, he had a crew called “The shipItHolla Ballas”. It was a group of young successful online poker players that included Phil “OMGclayaiken” Galfond. It all sounds sort of gay, but I would have died to be in it. If you’ve seen episode 1 of this series, the story about Robl (episode 2) is completely different. It gets the other prospective of the young online poker player. Watch it. Here are my thoughts:
-It’s funny how in the first few minutes of the documentary, he is clearly staring at his assistant’s boobs.
-I like how he says he doesn’t see a future with Mila, even though she wants to slow down and get married. Sounds like love to me. Maybe it’s a Las Vegas thing.
-I found it interesting when he said that a professional poker player is portrayed as more prestigious than a doctor or lawyer in Las Vegas .
-There is a lot of advertising for VictoryPoker.com in this documentary. I heard the site is full of regs, and it’s a rip off. I heard the rake is ridiculous for an online poker site.
-The soy sauce bet was funny. I love these types of bets. I’ve probably lost around $100 on these stupid bets, $5 or $10 at a time.
-Seeing his stats from the partypoker days was crazy. A 200%+ ROI is ridiculous. In today’s games, the biggest winners have an ROI of less than 20%. I miss the PartyPoker days. I still remember multi-tabling on PartyPoker. I had no idea what I was doing really, so I just tried to play tight. It seemed to work, but I def wish I could go back and make some serious monies. PartyPoker still owes me an ipod shuffle, those bastards. When they stopped allowing US customers, I used all my points for an ipod shuffle, but it never came. But I guess I can’t complain, I was playing underage at the time.
After watching the entire documentary, it all seemed kind of dark. It seemed to show the downsides of poker. Robl never really seemed happy or content. He seemed unsatisfied all the time. I understand that he was in a serious downswing during filming, but still.
Anyway, in his blog, he says he is up 250K in the past week. Which I like to call "doing the run-good"

blind fish find bones?

Yesterday, I was skateboarding home from my last class. It was so damn windy. By the time I got back, I was out of breath. But on my way back, I saw guys playing a pick-up game of basketball outside. Wtf, why would you play basketball in the wind. Is that fun? It’s not exactly like golfing in the wind. In golf, wind is always a variable. But it’s not in basketball. I mean, if you hit 5 treys in a row, are you really that good? I remember my Uncle told me one time, “the batter doesn’t always hit the ball (in baseball), sometimes, the ball just hits the bat.”

Fcuk! I love baseball. I was so pumped to see the Giants yesterday. And they didn’t disappoint with a 5-2 victoryyyyy! I hope this excitement lasts a little longer than May, but we’ll see. I told Greg it’s like the law of diminishing returns: The first game is amazing, but every game after that, gets a little less satisfying. Vamos Gigantes!?

best looking poker players

Male: Most people that know me, know that I am a Patrik Antonius fan. He’s always regarded as one of the top 2 poker players in the world. But damn, how can anyone say he is not good looking. Here he is in a nasty hand.

Female: It’s slim pickens for good looking girls in poker. But, there is a sleeper. Her name is Leo Margets. She was the “Last Woman Standing” at last year’s WSOP Main Event. I know her eyes are kinda crazy, but as far as female poker players, she’s cute. Here she is in an interview.

I would challenge anyone to find better looking poker players.

giantswhat

Some people say they love to read books. Other people say they hate to read books. I’m a little different, I love to start books. Not finish, only start. I start books like a fiend!! When I’m in compulsive mode, I’ll buy 2-3 books on Amazon per month. I’ll start it, and love it, but never finish it.

So, here’s the deal with myself. I’m currently reading Big God by Britt Merrick. I want to finish this book by the end of this month. If I fail to finish this book, this is what I’m going to do:
Take (5) $10 bills. Go outside my house, place a rock over each of the bills in different spots (either on the street or sidewalk). And then go back to my house, go to the balcony, and watch as people find each one.

victory

The author of The Last Lecture stresses how important childhood dreams are. Well, here is one of mine.
I want to win a fantasy basketball Championship.

I think it'd definitely attainable given that I will most likely play 3 leagues every year until I can no longer operate a computer. I just want to know what it's like to win. It's obviously not about the money, I want the ring, the 'ship. This year was my 2nd year playing, and it ended in such a disappointment. But somehow, i wasn't shocked, i just like to complain, so here it goes.

Throughout the entire season, I was in 1st place. The entire season! My team was stacked, zach randolph, brook lopez, luol deng, caron butler (mistake), vince carter (biggest mistake), and i picked up two studs in Blatche and Collison. I made it to the playoffs with the number 1 seed, which means first round bye. Ok, no prob. Then all of a sudden, very slowly, "it" started happening...

-Luol Deng goes down 2-4 weeks with an injury= dropped him
-Chris paul comes back=no more studly numbers for collison
-channing frye has slowed down every since brook's twin started getting more pt
-vince carter is being fragile
-and finally, blatche plays 8 minutes, and scores 4 points. I thought he got injured, but kyle informed me that he had a fight with the coach, fcuk me.

the sick thing is, I was winning 5-4 before Sunday. I had some open roster spots, so i needed to make some changes to help. I was very close in blocks and steals, so i asked kyle for some help. He gave me some suggestions, but all his players were not available. I told him Charlie V (I think he had 1 point and 1 assist btw) is available, and he said he's better than nothing. SO i swoop on him. But then I check the Warriors box score, and see that Turiaf played and had a block and a steal. I need that block and steal (I was in San Diego at the time with slow internet). I text kyle and ask him his opinion, and he says something like "it's close, but i would probably just stand pat" I agreed that it was close, so I just said fcuk it.
Sunday comes around, and I check the matchup, and it's close. Turiaf ends up having 2 blocks and 2 steals while shooting 5-5. Fcuk me. At the end of the day, I tied in FG%, and lost in blocks by 2. So had I picked up Turiaf, I would have won FG%, and tied in blocks, which would make the score 4-4-1. A tie, and in my ESPN league, I checked the tie breaker, and it goes to regular season record, ouch.

I'm going to win one day, and my reaction will be something like
