Hey, just wanted to see if there was any interest in this.
The new feature on PokerStars is their "home games."
Basically, you can set up a "poker club" where you invite people you know, and you can schedule tournaments and cash games with only the players in the club. so i was thinking that i can set one up, and play once, maybe twice a week. If you can't play, no big deal, people can come and go whenever. Maybe we can schedule our cash game during a sports game, and just mess around while watching the game. We can play just a low-stakes cash game (blinds $.05-$.10, we can even play 0.2-0.5 blinds) or a low stakes tourney. I think it could be a lot of fun.
if you're interested, please email or text me and i'll invite you.
also, if you don't have a pokerstars account, let me know and i can help you.
if
so it looks like there is some interest, here's how.
You are invited to join my private poker club for Home Games online.
- If you don't already have it, download the free PokerStars software from www.pokerstars.com
- Open the main poker lobby, then click on the Home Games tab
- Click the 'Join a Poker Club' button
- Enter my Club ID number: 186961
- Enter my Invitation Code: password
That's it! Once I've approved your membership request, we'll be ready to start playing Home Games online together.
If you want to find out more, visit www.pokerstars.com/homegames

scuba steve...damn you
I’ve always heard of people getting tickets in San Francisco and whatnot, and have thought to myself it can’t be that hard to avoid getting parking tickets. However, it took me about 48 hours for me to get my first ticket. On the street that I live on, you can’t park on the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month, from 1-3 PM. Therefore, out of the entire month, you can’t park on the street for 4 hours. And on the second day here, I walked to Bart in the morning, leaving my car on the street. I come back Friday afternoon to see a nice little white envelope on my windshield. 55 bones, cool bro.
I’m not completely positive, but I think I live in a half-ghetto (in SF terms). The neighborhood basically has characteristics of a ghetto, and of an average neighborhood. But who knows, maybe all of San Francisco is like that. Sometimes, there will be kids riding their bikes on the sidewalks. Other times, a group of 6 guys living the thug life come strolling through. Maybe strolling is the wrong word.
I think if I had to pick one guy, i'd say that Billy Walters is the most interesting man in the world. I first heard of him when I read an article that Billy Walters allowed Phil Ivey to make some of his high stakes sports bets. But anyway, I was listening to a poker podcast this morning and supposedly, Doyle Brunson said the dollar amounts in this video were played down for IRS reasons. unbelievable

just stare
It’s really frustrating when some slutty Subway employee just sort of throws your sandwich together. I hate it when the cheese isn’t spread evenly throughout the entire sandwich. I hate it when there is supposed to be 4 pieces of ham, and they only pick up 3 pieces and don't bother grabbing another piece of ham. And I hate it when I get a Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki, and they dump the chicken onto the bread and leave like a 2 inch gap in the middle of the bread. 2 inches of no chicken, ugh! And this one lady grabbed 4 tomatoes, and just threw them on my sandwich, and 2 of the tomatoes were exactly on top of each other. horrible. But anyway, I have a new theory that seems to be working (Sample size of 2).
Here it goes, when you order your footlong, stare at them while they make it. STARE. Concentrate. Don’t look at your phone, put your ipod in your pocket, and even lean down and put your face to the glass and make it obvious that you are staring at how he or she is making the sandwich. Ever since I’ve started doing this (twice), the sandwiches have been acceptable. I haven’t tried this at PandaExpress, but I assume if you do, that you will get that extra piece of shrimp.

shady mcgrady over there
-There is a store in the Stonestown mall called Pure Beauty. I kept thinking about it in my head, doesn’t it sound like puberty? Or is it just me
-Roy Hibbert is a bum. He killed my enthusiasm for the entire season. dirk, iguodala and steph's injuries haven't helped either.
-Hac and Di Dang are probably 2 of my top 10 favorite poker players. This video was pretty cool just watching them play high stakes and talking. http://www.pokerstatic.com/hot-seat/interview-with-hac-trex313-and-di-urindanger-dang/
-Shore update. Sammie is the new Angelina. In Miami, everyone ganged up on Angelina and she couldn't handle it and left early. This season, with no Angelina, Sammie seemed to fill that void. Only this time, Sammie has Ronnie, which makes it extremely awkward for Ronnie. In an unrelated note, I was at Marshall's looking for a black scarf, and I saw the Situation's work-out video on clearance for $5.99. I was extremely close to buying it just for fun, but decided against it. Also, I never thought I would become a scarf guy, but it's effing cold skateboarding in SF in the morning.
-I move into my new place this week, either Wednesday or Thursday. I always wanted to live on a hill, and now I get my chance. My room has a pretty nice view for the most part. We'll see what my roommates are like. Haven't met them because it's a newly remodeled house (only me and another guy have signed a lease so far) and I needed a place ASAP. There's definitely one thing i'll miss about living at my Grandma's house, and it's called free rent. booo
-It must suck to be a starting NBA player, get hurt, and watch your team do better with you in street clothes. I know any player would never admit to this, but if I was a injured player, I would want to see my team struggle a little bit, right?
-I want to date DEV (you know, go out and kick it). She was born, but not raised in Tracy(according to wikipedia). Not only that, she likes her beats fast and her bass down low. So weird, that’s exactly how I like my bass and the speed of my beats.

go big papa
-I went to my first pawn shop last week somewhere in downtown sf. It was definitely very shitty, but I badly badly badly wanted to negotiate the price of something PawnStars-style, just for the hell of it. I might just try and sell my Movado watch just to see how much I can get, then, just leave. Prop bet?
-Whenever I eat subway, I usually only get lettuce, spinach, red onions, and pepper. If I’m feeling very frisky, I’ll get banana peppers. However, I’m trying to eat more vegetables. Therefore, today, I went for lettuce, spinach, banana peppers, red onions, tomatoes, and CUCUMBERS! It was definitely pretty crazy for me, no lie. So short story short, it wasn’t as bad as I had imagined it would be. There were just so many different flavors that I don’t know exactly how I feel about it. I might just add tomatoes to my “usual” and cucumbers when I’m feeling crazy. We’ll see how it goes. And at Panda Express, instead of getting all fried rice, I am going to start getting half fried rice and half mixed vegetables.
-I admit it, I exaggerate about how good the Jersey Shore is. I have told pretty much everyone that I know that it’s an awesome show, and they are missing out if they are not watching it. Blah blah blah. However, this season, THIS SEASON!! (season 3) is going to be one of the best reality tv shows ever. EVER. No exaggeration, the 60 second preview of the season was pure amazing. Deena is going to be perfect for the house, it completely divides the house even more against Sammie and Ronnie.
-Cream cheese is disgusting, just ugh. If you like it, you're wrong.
-I bought a new skateboard, fun!

-Jersey Shore season 3! are you ready?! I know scott isn't.
-There’s no better feeling than losing something, then you find out you really need/want it, look everywhere for it, ask at least 1 person if they can help, drop multiple f-bombs and FML’s, THEN eventually find it. It feels sooooooo good. I seriously turn into a different person when I can’t find something that I’m really looking for.
-The lady at Subway told me spinach cost an extra $0.50 for a footlong. I told her lol ok. But the day after, there was no mysterious charge, shady lady.
-I have a dream, that one day Phil Jackson will write a book and detail how much he hated coaching Kobe. Then he will compare coaching MJ to coaching Kobe and how he loved coaching in Chicago. And finally, he will explain how much he enjoyed coaching Shaq. I love his quote "then Kobe has to screw up the game..." lol
-My new favorite thing to do is walk around San Francisco with a big jacket while listening to my ipod. It's always so interesting to observe everything going on. Yesterday, i walked through a park and watched guys play speed chess (like in Searching for Bobby Fischer). Today, i wondered through city hall and then to the westfield while taking the long way back to bart.
-Jim Harbaugh, Tim Shmarbaugh.

dimes
Everything is relative. Everything.
When someone says you’re going too fast? Well, what exactly is too fast? 75 MPH is fast for some people, but not for other people.
Is that restaurant expensive? Well, it depends what “expensive” is.
Are you a picky eater? Well, it depends.
Is tracy a big city? Well, it depends.
Scott and I were talking about this the other day, but it always makes me think. A good example is a slam-dunk contest. I was watching some high school dunk contest on ESPN, tyreke and Brandon Jennings were giving 10s like it was nothing. Basically, all of the judges were stupid. In the first round, there should be no scores of 10, or even 9. But why? Ok, so this is an exaggeration, but let’s say Blake Griffin jumps from half court and dunks the ball, he should be given an 8, or even a 7. That doesn’t seem right? But yeah, think about it, what if he dunks from ¾-court in the next round, the score SHOULD be higher than the half court dunk. Therefore, you can’t give a 10 because then you can’t correctly reward a better dunk. I probably didn’t explain very well. But let’s just say if Blake dunks from half court, I would completely understand if a judge gave him a 6. He would just have to compare the remaining dunks to this scale. (assuming the scale were 1-10)
Same with rating girls, everyone asks what would you rate that girl? Well, you can’t really answer that, a 7 in my eyes is probably not going to be a 7 (solid seven?) in your eyes. In my eyes, I think Minka Kelly is the best looking girl on the planet right now. But I can’t really give her a 10, what if I see a Minka Kelly look-a-like with slightly bigger eyes? I would have to give her a higher score, but I can’t because I gave a 10 to Minka. So if I ask someone what would you rate Minka Kelly, and he says 7. He is either extremely smart or extremely stupid. If you wanted to be politically correct (wtf), you would say “what would you rate that girl if Girl X is a 7?” Geez, talk about over-analyzing. I know Jill is probably thinking to herself ‘just shut up grant, no one cares.’
In conclusion, what would I rate Minka Kelly? She’s a 10, hands down.
